On my wayPerspective Shmerspective. It's just a hotel corridor
Today's trip was after 5 hours of hard work this morning, in which I made pretty good progress on the presentation with the Powerpoint chart you saw in the last installment. So, walked out into the looooong corridor outside my room, got into the car, and started driving....
One of the things definitely to remember about the drive from SLC to Park City is the really big outlet center on the way. Then drove some more, got to Park City, and sat on a wonder ful deck at the base of the ski area to have lunch. Got ice cream, and then walked up and down Main Street, which is pretty much nothing more than a bunch of trendy restaurants and art galleries. Food for the physical and spiritual, I suppose.
Lots of motorcycles parked up and down the street, some great signage, and a reminder that there are fun things to do coming up, at leats in Park City.
The highlight of my little excursion came at the end, when I was walking past, of all things, the tourist center, and look through the window to see a large hawk looking right at me. I went
in, and spent some time talking to its handler and taking pictures. An amazing beast -- totally dignified and fierce. A role model when I was a teenager.
Anyway, enjoy these shots. Don't know how many more on this trip, but we'll see.
See you Tuesday night (or Wednesday morning, as the case may be)!
July 4th isn't too far away. Maybe a weekend here then? That applies to all reading this.
More PerspectiveDuring lunch. Nice view up the mountain. You might be able to see the chairlift going up
Chrome HaikuThere were lots of motorcylces. Great climate and landscape to ride in. In which to ride...
Sonnet in ChromeLike I said, lots of them, in the sun. Lucky I didn't send all my moto-abstracts
The most photogenic of allThis bird was really something. He's filming a movie with Harrison Ford and Sean Connery out in the desert. It's called Endagered Species.
