Alta - Only the Beginning

We left from Boston Dec 26th. Alta is located in Little Cottonwood Canyon just outside Salt Lake City, Utah. We are staying at the Peruvian which is right at the base of Alta and has beautiful views of Mount Superior. On the drive up, 10-12ft snow banks were all that remained after a huge controlled avalanche let go from Mt. Superior.

Just finished my second day of skiing and things are looking good. A 2 week drought has kept new snow fall to a minimum. The weather shows a good bit of snow coming. The locals haven't skied powder in 2 weeks, so there is definetly a buzz in the air.
