The forestI could have taken hundreds of pictures in here but you cant capture it

I'm on to map number 5 in the ACA series of 7 so I'm only 1300 miles from my destination St Agustine on Florida's atlantic Coast. The route is along small farm roads through the Sam Houston National forest. For those who don't already know Sam was among many other things the leader of the Texan revolution, gave his surname to the city and his statue is the largest of any american figure.
The forest itself is a welcome change of scenery and I enjoy the silence broken by the occasional bird crying out, cycling is easy as there are no hills and the wind cannot touch me here , also the impression of speed is enhanced as the tress fly past on either side.
I have some concerns however about my destination, at 45 miles in New Waverly there are no campsites or cheap motels indicated, the nearest campsite is another 15 miles on and I have been unable to contact them. Rain is on the way.
One of the good things about cycling on your own is not just the ability to make sudden decisions about a change of route or destination, its the fact that if
you make the wrong decision no one but me will suffer any negative consequences. So spontaneously on arriving at a junction I decide to once again stray from the ACA path and head for Montgomery some 10 miles south. The net result will be to travel 33 miles east after pedaling 45 miles but the prospect of sleeping rough in the forest in the rain is not an attractive alternative.
Montgomery is a dot on the map and the sign on entry that the population is 481 does not bode well , however as I leave town heading for Conmore on the shores of Lake Conmore some 10 miles away there are malls everywhere servicing the many lakeside property developments. Its not long before I reach the area full of campsites and motels, I get a place just before the heavens open and am relieved that I changed direction.

Hi Bill - Walter Chell here. Thought you would like to know a little more about what you can do with clamato juice. A Caesar, sometimes referred to as a Bloody Caesar, after the similar Bloody Mary, is a cocktail popular mainly in Canada. It typically contains vodka, clamato (a blend of tomato juice and clam broth), Worcestershershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, and is served on the rocks in a large, celery salt-rimmed glass, and typically garnished with a stalk of celery and wedge of lime. The cocktail was invented by myself Walter Chell (hence Chelada) at the Owl's Nest Bar in the Calgary Inn in Calgary, Alberta in 1969, to accompany the opening of a new restaurant, Marco's. In its original form, it contained tomato juice and mashed clams. Now you know. Enjoy.
Interesting Walter....
