Got our van back yesterday, but on the way back to the hotel the "service engine soon" light came on and it began
to hesitate and buck. Bill turned right around and went back, but being Friday afternoon...everyone was gone. They
told us to bring it back this morning, which he did. Thank god it was just antifreeze that had got into places it shouldn't have....not a big problem.
SO.....we will back on the road this morning heading further south. Since we can't cross the border till Monday, I'm hoping we can find a another cheap place on the beach at South Padre Island...about 20 miles this side of Brownsville. May as well enjoy our last full day in the States!
I will blog either later today or tomorrow morning with our location.

After planning this trip for over 5 years, we are finally venturing off next week. We will be driving over 3000 miles from New England to the southern part of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. We bought our piece of land 6 years ago and built a house last year. Can't wait to make it our home! ... full info

Simple, yes, Rosy....but very, VERY, expensive. It was a labor intensive job. We are now cash poor, but happy to have moved on! Will update again later today....I need pictures of the place that we found on South Padre Island! After spending a week in a small (not so clean) hotel room for a week in the city...we deserve this place.

Thank God, it was a simple fix this time! I wondered why you weren't in Mexico yet. So Mexico Monday...safe travels and no more van trouble.
