The smell is getting better on the way to work. Or maybe I'm getting used to it.
Have you ever had the 'opportunity' (don't you just love that buzz word at work?) to be in the area of a poggy (fish) or chicken processing plant / warehouse? This smell may be worse.
The remaining trailer complex is now empty of all contents and we're waiting for new trailers to be brought in. So is every other work site in the area, I'm sure.
Came home to maybe work some in the yard but between the mosquitoes and my body's pains, have decided to take it easy this evening.
Did manage to get my trash cans out to the road in case they actually can get to my neighborhood on the regular time schedule. If not, I may get a chance to make it to the landfill in Orange county tomorrow that is taking household garbage for this event.
Nothing new to report as it stands.
Media is really trying to get back to a normal schedule. Some really need normal just now.
Time will bring the stress for everyone in the days, weeks and months to follow of fighting the insurance companies. They, the insurance companies, will swear that what you have bought in insurance is not what needs to be covered for this storm. More of the same.
And the fights are on.
I have seen pictures of some plant sites and the damage done by the storm. They are stressful too. They are not mine to share, so I won't. They are probably out there somewhere on the web, but you'll have to look for them yourself.
Again a short post. Not sure if Associated Content is publishing my short articles but I hope so just to keep those that read me and are interested in this area a chance to read.
My other posts are on Travelblog.org that do get published and immediately.
If no real new things to report tomorrow, I may post only every few days now. I'll be busy anyway; with work and home.
Be safe, friends. Take a deep breath and try not to be over stressed. It'll hurt your health.

As I drove from Arnaudville to Cecilia on the bayou road this morning, I noticed 2 houses - side by side - that both have brand new roofs. I have been watching as they were put on after Gustav (with a week's break for Ike). But, this morning, I rounded the curve and just died laughing! There they were... Both houses with brand spanking new, tightly wrapped and stapled down "blue tarp" covers on their new roofs... Now that's what I call "hurricane preparedness" !!! LOL
Khaki, I certainly hope that they were using the tarps as protection prior to the storm rather than necessity afterwards! Here, there's no laughing, but some of the threatening front yards signs to looters do make me smile. I have that same attitude towards thugs and trashy people.
