ArizonaI only took two photos during this long day of driving.
We spent all day the 25th, our anniversary, driving to Texas. The first couple hours we drove 160 milles, but by then we were out of Arizona where the speed limit was 75 and traffic picked up as it got later in the day. We knew we were losing two hours before we hit my Uncle's due to the time change. Brian was worried it was going to be 10 or 11 before we got there but we arrived at my uncle's house by 8:30.
It was a relatively uneventful day. I am sick to death of any sort of drive through food. Uck. I didn't order much and threw away most of it, but the breaks did wake us up a little. That and the Five-hour Energy Shots. Although effective, the damn things have so much caffine in them that the next day when I didn't have that much caffine, it gave me a headache.
The overpasses in Arizona must be done with cement made from the red dirt. They were all a flower pot shade of red, very different and pretty. In New Mexico, when there'd be an overpass, the underneath was decorted with Native American symbols
and sometime in the medium they're be an over sized indian pot for no good reason. It was very pretty. We saw prong horn antelope in New Mexico as well. They were grazing on the other side of the interstate from us.
We had no trouble finding my Uncle's house, other than the directions they gave us said turn right at the ice cream place, when it should have been left. But we figured it out quickly with the map they sent us too. When we got here Christy was here and Patty shortly after. Barbara showed up a short time later. It was great to see them again and they stayed quite awhile until Uncle Warren began to fall asleep in his chair.
