Yesterday Maggie and I landed in Memphis after a plane journey from Portland and we settled into a comfy Hampton Inn for the night. This morning we got up a little late because we are still adjusting to the time difference. Even so, we were on the road by 9:30, I think. (I don't know for sure because we are not keeping strict account of the time. We are on vacation, you know!) We drove up Interstate 40 to Brownsville where we stopped at the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center. It was surprisingly informative and definitely a worthwhile visit.
