We began the day by starting a huge pot of beans. Last night, we soaked eight pounds of dry mixed beans. This morning, we started slow-cooking them in a huge pot that Phil found in his basement. Don and Betty came by to take us to a Jewelry TV tent sale. They both work for Jewelry TV which is based right here in Knoxville. The Home and Garden channel is here, too. The tent sale was fun. There were lots of gift items besides jewelry. We bought a couple of Christmas gifts, and Rich bought a stone chess set. The pieces look like one set of chessmen is made of crazy lace agate and the other set is made of travertine. Nancy's brother, Martin, called to see what we were doing and joined us at the jewely sale. Then Don and Betty had to leave for the dentist, so we took Martin to lunch and caught up on his doings. After lunch, he had to go to work at the Post Office. Rich went to the local VA clinic to see if he could get a knee brace for his knee, which is still killing him! They were closed! The sign
said that they close for meetings every fourth Thursday and since that's Thanksgiving, they were having their meeting today instead. Jan and Kathy picked Nancy up to go to the Hobby Lobby store, after Jan finished her day of teaching Latin at a local private school. The Hobby Lobby is like a Michael's only about twice as big, maybe more. Jan is a knitter, so she needed yarn, as well as a few other items. Kathy loves the whole store. Rich met us there on his way back from the VA. We found a couple of small items we needed, too. Then we went over to Jan's for dinner. We discussed plans and menues for a weekend camping trip together up in the Smokey Mountains in our camper. In between all this, we tended the beans all day.
We slept with the delicious aroma of cooking beans wafting even outside to our camper!
Didn't have any photos today, so I put some in anyway. I tried to upload a video, but it didn't work.
