Bonjour, Et bien depuis la dernière lettre nous avons fait du chemin. Nous sommes à Myrtle Beach, Caroline du Sud. Depuis notre départ de Hampton, Virginie nous avons eu 3 jours de pluie sans arrêt, Des gros vents dûs à l’ouragan Noel mais depuis le temps est ensoleillé et chaud par contre les nuits sont froides. Speak Australian! My gosh it gets you a long way here in southern America! Was onsite in very very country american town (Lenoir in North Carolina) and you name it, the drillers, the on-site client contact, the guy at the hotel, the lady serving me at the restraunt.......a simple 'Gday' greeting was all it took for a huge smile to light up all of their faces and a fascination as to where the hell i i had come from where such strange sounds were considered speaking English! Hey again. So the other travel blog was way more complicated than I need or wanted. So I am back writing here. This has been a wierd but good summer. Brief update for those who don't know I did not go back to China. I have been living at home. I am now working at Portrait Innovations in Columbia which I like. As always we have thoroughly enjoyed our time in Charleston, South Carolina. It has become our hometown filled with friends, fun, and tons of great cultural and culinary delights (gotta love that southern cooking). Besides enjoying all this city has to offer we have also been busy preparing for the next adventure. Our plan is to sail to the Caribbean for the next 2-3 years; thru the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, the Windward and Leeward Islands, and the Grenadines. Got woken up by Hannah early in the morning, whispering from outside my tent. I eventually got up, very tired and went to meet her near reception to go for a walk on the beach. I went to the bathroom and saw that Amy was coming as well. We headed down to the beach and noticed it was very cloudy, we were pretty disappointed because it was a lovely night last night. Woke up a little groggy this morning, packed up the campsite and had breakfast. I had a strange fruity sugar drink for breakfast which tasted disgusting. It didn’t go down very well at all, soon after I was throwing up into the bush. The rest if the group were in the van ready to go while I hurled my guts up after drinking this terrible stuff. Another vacation has ended for us, and we're making the inevitably grueling drive home. When you're on the road headed for a weekend away, the drive seems less taxing. You're going toward something, you have an enjoyable goal, and you're fresh with excitement and energy. But when the fun is over and it's time to hit the road for home, the feeling is entirely different. Every mile seems to take an hour, every driver is exponentially more annoying, and even road food doesn't taste nearly as good and you find yourself thinking about the normal food at home. Today I learned what Myrtle Beach is actually about. Relaxation and cheese! We woke up around noon to a slightly overcast day, and Jerry of course assumed automatically that since it was so late, we will make it nowhere.
