After a much needed good night's sleep, I was up at around 9, hoping to get out and about early. However, this was before I remembered I had to do some laundry, which delayed me by a couple of hours. Woke at about 7, after a shocking night's sleep because; a) the bed is a good 3 inches too short for me; and b) the girl in my dorm with me had to be up at 4 to get her bus. Left Savannah this morning and jumped on the Greyhound for a 2 hour journey to its sister city, Charleston. On arrival, jumped in a taxi to my hostel, which I was disappointed to find out seemed to be further out of town than I'd first thought. I couldn't check in until 5, so I wandered round to get some lunch, eventually finding a French restaurant where I had a croque monsieur and pomme frites. Neal and I tied the knot on July 18, 2007, a mere 10 months after we starting dating. We were originally going to do a big shebang and all around February of next year (and accordingly, we booked a honeymoon for then). But we decided to be spontaneous and go to the courthouse. Last March (2007), Neal and I made our way across the state (well, about 2 hours, anyway) to Poinsett State Park. It is wild that there are hills this big in the Coastal Plains of South Carolina. It's nice, though, because it gives us a chance to have a mini-mountain experience without heading allll the way upstate. The trip was pretty simple. We hiked and camped. My poncho accomplished its assigned mission somewhat, with the top side completely coated in a fine sheen of dew. The bottom, facing us, was also coated in a fine layer of dew. Journal de bord Lundi le 12 novembre Wrigtsville à Little River (ICW Mile 341) Autre belle journée avec son ciel clair et qu’aucun nuage ne vient entacher. Things to ponder and think about. I did a days work at a place called Dataw Island Marina (punch that into Google and see what I mean!......hmmmmm…..google another global monopoly that may justify its own installment……anyway back to Dataw Island) yesterday and the place quite frankly is bullshit.
