U.S Roadtrip 2012

I have been talking a lot lately about my plans for this summer! Josh and I will be taking a 5 week roadtrip across/around the country. After months of talking about it, we finally sat down yesterday and planned a route and a basic itinerary. So this is what our route looks like....

Since I am terrible with google maps....and just overall terrible with anything computer related....this extremely long URL is all that I could come up with to show you where we will be going. Yeah, that is the route we are taking! And this is our plan.....

We will be driving to Jackson, Mississippi as our first stop. Last summer we met some friends...William and Mathew from Mississippi, in a hostel in Germany. Now we are finally going to get to see their home town in Jackson.!

From there we will head down to New Orleans Louisianna and check out the French Quarter!

On to Austin, Texas where we will be visiting Josh's friend Lisa who recently moved down there for work! We also are hoping to meet up with a couple that we met on a bus in Italy who were living in Germany at the time. We met up with them in Munich, had a great time, and now are hoping to see them again in their home town of Austin!

On to New Mexico where we will be camping at Carlsbad Caverns National Park and then visiting White Sands National Monument.

On to Arizona where we will stop of at the Petrified Forest National Park and then head on to the Grand Canyon National Park to camp.

Then on to Nevada where we will check out the Hoover Dam and of course have some fun in Las Vegas!

On to California where we will visit Death Valley National Park, Yosemite National Park, take a camping break in San Francisco before heading on to the Redwoods National Park.

We then will head up to Oregon to Crater Lake National Park....spend a little time in Portland and check out Mt. Hood on the way out

We then will be taking a seemingly boring drive through Idaho (If anyone knows of anything interesting to do there....please let me know!) and into Wyoming to check out Yellowstone National Park.

We then will head on to Colorado...visit my cousin Kristen and her husband who will be newly moved into Denver....check out Rocky Mountain National Park....and head home!

Of course this is just a general idea....hopefully we can fit in a little more! I am looking forward to it : )
