Hey Guys,
Nothing too exciting to report, I've just been hanging out, going to class, going out, doing homework etc...
Last night I went to Cirque De Soleil Saltimbanco at the Bryce Jordan centre on campus, which was amazing. This weekend I'm going to a music festival close to State College, playing an open mic night on campus, and of course, watching the AFL grand final with the Aussie contingent plus a few tonight (starts at half past midnight). I'm going for the Cats, partly because they deserve it and partly because I hate Port Adelaide.
I've been thinking about my travel plans - I think they'll go like this:
Thanksgiving (Nov 17 - Nov 25) I'll spend a week in Chicago staying in a hostel, seeing the sights, doing the tourist thing. I've got a few friends that are going to be in Chicago over thanksgiving so I'll hang out with them and hopefully see some jazz (underage...) and museums, landmarks etc... I had a brainwave about flying to South America for the week but with the whole money thing I'm going to be sensible and keep it in the USA. I'll do South America properly another time. I'm also going to stop off in Cleveland (which is on the way) and check out the Rock & Roll hall of fame.
Then... I officially finish uni on the 21st of December here (that's the last day that I could possibly have an exam, hopefully I'll finish a few days earlier). Any extra days that I get before the 21st I'll spend in Philadelphia. I'm arriving in Boston on the 21st of December, will stay there until Boxing day when I'll get the bus to New York City. I'll be in NY from the 26th of December until the 3rd of January (yes, including NYE in Times Square), then I fly to London on the 3rd. I have 12 days to be a lost tourist in London, before flying to Sweden on the 15th to start university there. In the USA I've booked hostels ($40/night), in London I'll switch it up between hostels and staying with people (suggestions are welcome and encouraged).
Hope all is well in the land of oz. I miss all you guys and the beer and the fact that I'm allowed to drink it and the beaches and the sport and the people that don't take themselves way too seriously and will definitely soon miss the weather.
Anyway, everything's going well, life is good here, work is easy (but still time consuming...) and I'm still having plenty of fun. So I suppose I can't complain really.
Speak soon,
Renan.
