It is the last day and we are blogging in the airport waiting to depart for home sweet home! While it was a short day in terms of sightseeing, we experienced a ton! We had a 9:30 appointment at Ford’s Theater where we learned about the Theater and Lincoln’s assassination. We all learned something, including Mr. Boren & Mrs. Bundy. They have done a tremendous job restoring and preserving the theater. The National Park service is in charge of the theater and they do a great job! After Ford’s Theater we headed to the Mall and the Smithsonian Museums. There were many places for the kids to visit including, the American History Museum, Natural History Museum, Air & Space Museum, the Smithsonian Castle, Fine Art Museum, and probably others I am forgetting. We had a great time! Since this was a US History trip, we made them spend an hour in the American History Museum but we let them have about 3 ½ hours to go the museum of their choice. We saw so much, it would be impossible to list, so I encourage everyone to ask their student, friend, or loved one about their experience at the museum of their
choice. After we finished at the museums, we boarded the bus and headed to the airport. While on the way, we said goodbye to our AWESOME tour director, Nate and driver, Mark. We can’t say enough about these guys! They made the trip a great success! It wouldn’t have been as relaxing and fun without them! Thank you Nate and Mark! We hope to see you both again next year! I can’t seem to get internet access here at the airport, so I will post this tonight and won’t make any changes assuming all goes well during travel. Thanks again to all of the kids, parents, families, friends, and loved ones for making this trip possible. We appreciate everything you have done and we hope your student enjoyed the trip!

Mr. Buren and Mrs. Bundy, I didn't get a chance to visit with you personally last night at the airport, but I once again want to thank you for allowing Lexie this wonderful opportunity! She had a blast and is SO full of stories. You guys are great and very much appreciated!
