The Big GamYes, those are some of the locals underneath the gam.
We have one more short day (only about 5 hours) of travel to go and we are home. Gillian, I think, was not aware that it would take us 2 1/2 days to get home. The kids did get the chance to go swimming in the pool tonight.
We really didn't stop to see any attractions today, other than the "big gam," and Mark will have to summarize it, nor did we eat at any "awesome" diners, dives & drive-ins. All in all, it was a very, very long day of driving. - Rhonda
Wow - how can I possibly put into words the awesomeness of "the big gam" aka the giant lady's leg sun-dial? Big? Incredible? Unbelievable? Gamalicious? Naked?? did I mention that it was smack in the middle of a nudist colony? This attraction definately earns the award for "Not At All What I Expected!" There was just a small sign on the side of the road pointing to the "Sun Aura" club. The entrance was a maze of fences to keep the curious from peeking in. But did that keep us from driving right into the place? Of course not! The first sight to greet us was a few of the inhabitants mulling around the grounds. It was here that I decided the maze of fences was probably erected (hehe - he said "erected") at the request of the people on the
outside of the property. The whereabouts of the gam weren't immediately apparent, so luckily I spotted a maintenance worker who had his pants on. He pointed to a building that it was on the other side of and told me I'd have to ask the management about snapping a couple of pictures. Fortunately the management was fully clothed and I only had to slide past a couple of properly unattired patrons to get out to the big leg. I told them I was on a sort of cross-country scavenger hunt in order to diffuse any suspicions that I was a spy from the outside world here to infiltrate and expose (haha) their little club. Luckily I was able to get photographic evidence of it's existence, because the kids weren't allowed out of the car and Rhonda didn't have the nerve to go any further than the parking lot. I'm not sure that gazing upon the gam was really worth the extra miles out of the way to get to it, but at least I won't live the rest of my life wondering! - Mark
It appears that the kids burned out on their journal entries, so you'll just have to ask them what they did on their summer vacation the next time you see them.
