I'm nearly to the end of a very long day. I checked out of my hotel at 5:00 this morning London time - almost 15 hours ago - after another sleepless night. I was still fairly wound up after my dinner & drinks with Daniela and too afraid I'd oversleep in the morning. I tried to sleep but gave up around 3:30. I didn't feel like walking to Bayswater Station (and I don't think the Tube runs that early anyway) so I had the hotel call me a taxi to take me to Victoria Station. I'm saddened to report that my cousin Doug passed away early this morning, losing a lengthy battle with cancer. It should provide some small amount of comfort to friends and family to know that he no longer has to suffer any pain. I found out through a call from my sister shortly before my flight left Albuquerque. It is being able to keep in better contact with my loved ones that prompted my purchase of the Blackberry in the first place. I can now honestly say that the cost was justified. Ted, from NYC, flies into Cincinnati for the first time today. Well, the airport is actually in KY. He comments that next time he is bringing roller skates to wear from the terminal to baggage claim! (It's a long long walk from the planes) I have it all planned... the big curve where you finally get a dramatic view of the skyline... but I am rattling away when Ted asks "Is that Cincinnati?"... doh!
