Web CamThis is the Averitt truck near exit 86 on I-95 Southbound. We are inside :)
Brought Puffkin with us starting this week! She was uncomfortable at first but has gotten used to it.
Went to Weyers Cave in Virginia and unloaded.
Had to go back to York PA, but this time to a different place. We had to pick up beans at a Hanover Foods factory. It smelled pretty good out there, and was out in the middle of nowhere. Needed a bypass pretty bad.
We delievered this to a Richfoods place in Richmond Virginia. It was a chaotic, horribly organized distribution center. Kevin used a company check to pay a "lumper" (and without a doubt, an illegal immigrant) to unload the truck, as places like this make you do. He was paid 115, untaxed. I'd have done that!
I took a picture of our truck outside of Richmond too, off the internet, of a video web cam of the road! I will post this later.
Then we went to Ashland VA to get some paper for the South Carolina Charleston Post and Courier. There was the largest pile of logs there I had ever seen. And the place smelled like Butt! Glad to get out of there. Not too
CircledHere is a circle around the truck to help you see it.
happy to end up where we did though.
On to Charleston SC. What a HOLE!
We were driving down the street, in downtown, and saw a drug deal and exchange right in front of our hood. They stopped (one in a car, the other walking) and walked out in front of us, exchanged money and contraband....apprently they must have a sales account of some kind because they knew what they other wanted, exactly.
Why the irony? It was underneath a power pole with a big sign that said "This area under surveillance for drug activity" and there was a cop JUST down the street, ignoring the whole deal. I'm too cynical to think it was some kind of police backed sale....I think it's just an exercise in apathy./
Happy to be out of there, we had to pick up a load going to Hebron KY. It is where we are now as I type. It is an unusual load. Another Averitt driver had taken a trailer from this place in North Charleston ALLL the way to Hebron KY and...it was empty! I am sure he felt stupid. So we are taking his load up to the place now. Kevin has been sick the past 3 days and this drive has been awful and slow. We will be home tonight though, after we take this next load. Post about that later.
