Hello Everyone! Well to give a brief update of what I'm doing right now...is well...nothing. I'm currently unemployed because a job that was lined up just fell through. So, I'm searching Craigslist, yahoo jobs, and the newspaper. I've applied for a variety of jobs; such as: Assembly Line Worker, Cashier for a family owned business, Store stocking, Construction, and others. We'll see if I get any replies, I just need something, because funds are depleting.
On another note, My course on Teaching English is going well. It was definitely not what I had expected. The course is given in a lecture/continual interaction with the students. And quite frankly, it is very interesting to hear the insights of other students. It is slightly weird being in a room with so many people who are just as crazy about traveling as I am...but, it's definitely a good thing.
I've also come to realize that I have a lot to learn when it comes to teaching. A lot of learning that will have to be learned outside of the classroom. For example: I had no idea that there were 36 tenses in the English language. Also, I've been informed, I use them all continually (as well as a Southern Ohio redneck/ Tennessean can use them). As I was saying, I have a lot to learn when it comes to being the 'teacher.'
I've decided, too, that I'm going to teach Elementary students. It sounds like too much fun that I need to experience. I'm sure it will be hard at first...but...I love kids...so...it will be ok.
My biggest problem right now (besides not having a job) is deciding where I should go!? I've been tossing around Thailand, Peru, and Hong Kong. Each for a certain reason: Thailand- Awesome beaches, friendly people, and possible Moon Parties (lol...just google it). Peru- Manchu Pichu, I can speak some spanish, and I've always wanted to go to South America. Hong Kong- Know some Mandarin, Love them Asians, and well...here it comes... They offer the most money.
So...I have to decide by Friday... If anyone wants to give some advice... I'm listening.
