We had an easier drive this day on our way to Fargo, ND. The town is nothing like I remember from the movie. A lot of recent development. Nor and Sean left on the 20th from Hector International Airport (which I found out is really true unless you call minneapolis or denver foreign cities). They had an early flight so there are some sunrise photos as well. [View Full Entry]

We enjoyed our stay in Fargo; however, I am still looking for the t-shirt "I went to Fargo and all i got was this lousy t-shirt and a new tranmission." We grilled out and are having green sticks (cresent roll dought rolled on a stick rolled in cinaminon) at our campfire. The licence plate game is still going well, but we have had to put other games on hold. What games you ask? The quiet game, How much longer, punch buggie no punch backs, PT brusier no punch backs and our family favorite, the door knob game. Rachel's blog: since we [View Full Entry]

Hey, Yesterday was a great day. We stayed in Madison Tuesday night so we could get up and see the University of Wisconsin. It was a beautiful campus with student houses right on the lake. The girls think they would like to attend U of W, I am just glad they want to go to college. We walked around the campus and were able to get in and see Camp Randall Stadium, very impressive. Our next stop of our tour of Big Ten colleges was the University of Minnesota. Thanks to Tech. Help Jason for giving us directions to the campus. [View Full Entry]

Driving, driving, driving. Yup, that's basically what we have been doing. We had a later start today, because Samuel didn't want to go to sleep last night for quite a while and we were all tired this morning. Having the same problems this evening with Sam and his cold...poor little man. Anyways we made it over the border with no problems...we lost our nectarines to the border guys because they didn't have stickers on them saying where they came from! Oh well. We were planning to camp tonight as the weather has improved a bit since coming south, however the campground [View Full Entry]

Well folks, I have 2 days left until I embark on my journey! And I couldn't be more thrilled, let me tell you. Hopefully I can figure out how to use this thing, and I won't have to bother with stupid e-mail, facebook, or any of that other junk! Except postcards, I will send lots of those, they are fun. I sit here thinking about the months to come and realize that I have less than four months left of life as I know it in mild Minnesota. Many thoughts run through my head, mostly of excitement, but there are some others of disbelief that I am actually going to be doing this! I wonder if I'll be different when I return and if/how this experience will change me. There is no doubt that some change will take place, after all, it is the land of the gods! It is a beautiful place full of history and rediscovery of things long [View Full Entry]

June 30 With advice from the locals I hopped on hwy 212 and blasted east. I dropped in and visit the Bear Butte State Park where several Indian tribes regarded the mountain as holy ground and would perform spiritual ceremonies. I'm out of the mountains and traveling across the American plains. Like the joke says "you can see your dog run away for days". I'm battling wicked crosswinds and boredom. I wished had a buysa or ZX14 to "shorten" the long straight aways. I was planning on spending the weekend in Aberdeen, but there are no free hotel rooms. I'm forced [View Full Entry]
