No, he's not on the road with us!

But he's pretty tickled to be up front for the short trip!
What a great summer this has been for us, and I hope you as well. The theme for it would have to be "Friends and Family", because we were fortunate enough to spend lots of time with both groups. We spent most of June visiting around, and then had a wonderful family reunion, and finally settled in Dickinson so Bob and Jean could begin destroying and rebuilding. During the time they were doing that, Bob and I attended his class reunion, and then two weeks later Jean and I attended ours~~40 year reunions are the best, because there's just no pretences! And the biggest blessing was being able to spend so much time with our girls' families! Terrific times!

We left Dickinson the 29th, on our way to Rexford, Kansas, to begin our third year of serving through RVICS (Roving Volunteers in Christ's Service).

I'm going to leave this post to summer pictures. I'll begin blogging now on a regular basis; I must say I've missed doing it! Please enjoy my Summer Review!

Bob and Vicki
We retired the end of 2006, and started traveling the country, working with RVICS~~Roving Volunteers in Christ's Service. (Pronounced R-VICS.) We live and travel in our motor home, and work at Christian camps, schools and conference centers accross the country. RVICS isn't affiliated with one denomination; rather, it's a Christ faith based ministry. We don't travel as a group, but whoever is assigned to a particular project meets up on the beginning date. We're on each project about four weeks. If you are interested in more information on RVICS, please log on to: rvics.com, or contact u... full info

Dakota Greetings
Enjoyed your post; the pictures made me smile. What fun to be able to enjoy your family... I'm enjoying not working again this fall - found I was very good at doing nothing... We plan on heading south again the end of Oct. or first part of November. LIN

Hi, Lin!
Don't you love fall when you're not looking at it through the classroom window?! Have a safe trip south...we looked it up, and we'll be clear across Texas from you~~probably not the time to plan a reunion! Thanks for keeping in touch!

Hi, Annie!
You've been in our prayers for this journey you've been on. We are so sorry about Emily, and yet your prayers were answered! Enjoy your month at Sandy Cove, and good luck with your new projects. Love you............

LOVE grandkids
That looked like a fun, loving summer. I love the picture of your grandkids in the group. Are you ready to leave it all for another sojourn? We're heading out on Sept 16th to head across country, stopping first in Cedaredge, CO for a few days, then heading to Branson. On Sept. 25, we're driving to the airport in Little Rock, then flying to Boston and coming back the 28th, to continue down to Alabama for my reunion Oct. 2 thru 4. Then heading up to Pratt, KS, back to Cedaredge, Phoenix and home by Oct. 14th. And I say all that to say: Where will you be? Love, Linda

Great pictures :) Oh yah, I'm pretending that you're still in ND. Can we come visit next weekend?

Hi, Linda!
Well look at you, all touring around! It sounds like a very fun trip! We are in Rexford, which is only about 60 miles from the Colorado state line; we'll be here for September. I don't have a map, so I'm not sure where Cedaredge is, but we're west of Colorado Springs. October finds us in OK, but I can't remember where. November we're in Texas~~northern. We'll stay in touch and make something work, ok? Have a wonderful trip!

sorry we missed you
Hi Bob and Vicki, Not sure if you made it to Sidney, but we were in and out ourselves all summer, and may have missed your visit. Too bad. We would love to talk with you sometime about RVICs. We are still a couple of years away from retirement, but it is still something we keep tossing around for future plans. Great picture of the grandkids! We are about at 6 - next couple of weeks. Have a wonderful year. May God bless your travels and your projects. In Him, Bob and Carrell

Hi, Carrell!
We were in Sidney several times, but most of them were day trips. Next summer for sure we'd like to give a talk about RVICS to the church. Are you expecting a new grandchild? That's such an exciting time! We miss you......Vicki
