sunset beach
Mom and I sittin' on the sand watching the sunset and enjoying the nice sea breeze :) I named my blog “lookin’ for butterflies” because butterflies amaze me. Did you know that there are 24,000 species of butterflies!!!! Did you know….if you break open the chryssalis (I thought it was called a cocoon but according to Nicole Hunsicker I was wrong) the butterfly will not be able to fly…because it is the struggle of breaking open the “chrysalis” that strengthens their wings to fly…. Sort of like… we go through tough circumstances and experiences in our life to strengthen us for what is ahead….. and did you know that butterflies can actually taste with their feet, they surf on wind waves, and the motion of their flutter would be equivalent to a human doing back flip, handspring, front flip, back flip, hand spring, hand spring, etc…. it would be impossible for a human to move that way….. GOD PUT ALL OF THAT EFFORT into a beautiful butterfly…and want to know the kicker… THE AVERAGE LIFE SPAN OF A BUTTERFLY is ONLY 2 WEEKS!!! If God put that much thought and effort and care into making a butterfly, can you imagine how much care and love He put into us? So with all of that interesting stuff said….butterflies
Sunset Beach
watching the sunset at Sunset beach..... breathtaking.... HE painted this sunset just for you and me to see :) are little reminders for me of the OUTRAGEOUS love God has for me. So I try and notice them on purpose and take that moment to thank God for all He has done and will do in my life.
But apparently…… God has something to teach me about dragonflies too…. Because I have seen SO MANY dragonflies in the last couple days. Does anybody know anything about dragonflies? Please do tell! I haven’t had a chance to research them!
I finished reading Barbarian Way (summer read #1) this morning. Most inspirational book following the Bible I have ever read! Again, I encourage you to read it. I pray that my life doesn’t make sense in human perspective. I pray for a barbaric boldness to continue to be stirred in my heart and my life, and an untamed faith that only can be understood by my Heavenly Father.
I began reading Beth Moore’s new book “So Long Insecurities you’ve been a bad friend to me” (summer read #2) Beth Moore is a hoot right!!!!! She just cracks me up. As I am reading the words off her pages, I am just laughing to myself as I can
Mrs. Calabash
Jimmy Durante made this place famous in the 1940's! actually picture her facial expression and sound of her voice as if she were actually saying it to me face to face. I am really excited about this book!! 5 chapters in, and I already feel like every woman in the world should read this book. Insecurity is such a battle. A battle we cannot win without recognizing our insecurity and asking God to heal us of it.
Tonight we ate at “Coleman’s Original Calabash Restaurant.” In the 1940’s, Jimmy Durante, a famous television and radio guy came to eat at the restaurant and told the woman that owned the place that he was going to make her famous someday… and he did!!! For 4 years he would close out each of his television and radio shows every evening with “Goodnight Mrs. Calabash wherever you are!” Because of this un-usual closing to a radio and tv show, people were curious and visited Calabash, N.C. to eat at Coleman’s Seafood!
Shout out to all my 3rd Wednesday of the month girls!!!!!!!!!!!! I missed all of you tonight, but hope you all had such an amazing time!!!! I can’t wait to hear about it!!!
