Well, here I am, Day 2 of my trip and I find myself in New York again ! I love this freakin' town - everything about it is amazing, however, most of all, the cultural diversity just blows me away - european, asian, latinos, african-american, italian, sudanese - you name it, they're in the NYC ! So my hostel was in the heart of Harlem (this little white duck stood out like a pimple on a baby's ass) and was pretty kewl however, no bar ! It is called the 'Jazz on Lennox' in case anyone is planning a trip to [View Full Entry]

I arrived yesterday into New York and stayed at the Marriot Marquie, my mate Matt got an agent discount ($89 for one night) and the rooms was huge and overlooked Time Square, wow it was amazing. I now have moved to my lesser impressive hotel lol, but i dont plan on spending much more time in the room, only when i have to run away from crazies late at night lol. New York is amazing, i imagined that Tokyo would be exactly like this (it wasnt) it is soooo busy and trashy, if you havent picked up my general feeling on [View Full Entry]

I am appreciating New York eversomuchmore than I had imagined I would. I assume it's the particular company I have. For one, Nari and Zoe have been on top of it in the entertainment field. It's good to slip into the cozy and worn friendshoeps like this. The breakdown of my own solo exploration is nothing less than typical tourism. I am content with this simply because, as being from the US, I feel obligated to see all the things I'm supposed to. In France, I had some hosts that hadn't left their region before and hadn't visited some key points [View Full Entry]

If Mario ate this,
Staten Island Ferry

Started off by taking the city bus tour (on the same ticket as the previous night's tour) winding our way to downtown (lower) Manhattan. The tour guide lost any chance of a decent tip by stopping the bus outside Macy's for long enough to arouse the interest of a certain tourist. Hopped off the bus at the WTC site but we didn't stay long - with construction underway on the new towers, there was little to see and difficult to get close to the site at all. Passed quickly through Wall Street (before we could be hassled by traders to buy [View Full Entry]

Sad but true, Central Park saw the last day in New York. I have decided that I am a HUGE fan of New York -even despite the sub zero temperatures. There is so much life in the city and I can tell that when things get a little hectic, the locals head to Central Park for some time-out. The park itself is huge. We only walked around for about 1 hour and maybe got a 1/4 of the way through but it is just beautiful. So unfortunately, there isnt much to report in New York. We both really enjoyed our time [View Full Entry]

I am back on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. But before all of you ladies start fainting at my closely looming presence I must inform you I am not on the left coast. I arrived in The Big Apple sometime today. Reality says 1 p.m., my body says it was 7 p.m. That's what I get for going back in time. Yesterday.... was it yesterday? Yesterday, I was still in Budapest after having spent the weekend in Vienna. We had seen the Fleet Foxes and J. Tillman play at Arena in Vienna as mentioned before. (I apologize if this [View Full Entry]

Day 1 in NY Many years ago, I was about twelve, I made a very gruelingly long road trip from my home in the Denver area to the urban utopia that is New York. Where I visited was not exactly the city zone that everyone knows about, it was actually in Buffalo, one of the many overlooked cities in these United States of America. As our motor vehicular travel brought us into Erie County my mother, who originated from this region, explained to me that I was going to see the first, of many, places she used to visit as a [View Full Entry]

It's freezing today! Sorry for breaking into song but it is hard not to in this beautiful city. So, for your reading pleasure, we will split New York up - because this place is seriously amazing - Albeit FREEZING COLD!! We took the red eye flight from LA to NY and arrived at JFK at 8:30am. I am not sure what people talk about when they say it takes forever to get through security (domestically) and then thru the gates the other end. In all our flights - and we have had a few, we have been out within 30mins. Its [View Full Entry]
