23rd August, 2022 We went to the cafe next door for breakfast this morning. It was much better than the hotel breakfast. Sandra had pancakes and I had French Toast. We walked up to the M&M store to get on the hop on hop off bus by 9:30am. The weather was much better today so we didn‘t need our coats even though we brought them. We got off at Ground Zero and walked around both pools but the museum isn‘t open on Tuesdays so we couldn’t go in. Jumped on a subway train to go to the Staten Island Ferry. Walked around in circles again looking for a ticket booth and then realised it was free. Got quite a few good pics of the Statue of Liberty and also some skyline shots. Got on the bus ... read more

24th August, 2022 We managed a bit of a sleep in this morning. Stepped out of the hotel just after 10am and got a taxi to Central Park. We had planned to get an electric bike to ride around the park but he dropped us at a different spot than what I seen before so we didn’t get a bike. We walked to the zoo and looked around there for over an hour. The zoo was ok but I think our Melbourne one is so much nicer and kinder to the animals. After another hour of walking with no way of knowing where the hell we were as nothing was signposted, we found a path that led out of the park and we ordered a Lyft back to the hotel. 21st August, 2022 Alarm (Sandra) got us all up by about 7:30. Gail & Jeff left about 8:30 and we ordered a Lyft straight after to go to the airport. The line for security was just about out the door. There was so many people leaving New Orleans. Can’t say I blame them. I wasn’t overly impressed. It was pretty dirty and smelly and there was so many vagrants and drug dealers everywhere. Our plane left about 25 minutes late but we landed in New York pretty much on time which was just before 3:00. Both of us just snoozed most of the way. Bon, ça y est: j'en suis aux 'derniers' et compter les dodos! J'avais mon dernier show sur Broadway aujourd'hui : Mr. Saturday Night. La vedette est Billy Cristal. Maudit qu'on a rit! Ça raconte l'histoire d'un stand up comic à la fin de sa carrière, donc il y a plein de jokes tout le long. Il y avait quelques chansons, mais pas trop. Je pourrai dire que j'ai vu des shows très différents les uns des autres. C'était vraiment génial. Dans la journée, je me suis promenée dans Central Park. Le samedi, il y a énormément de monde, mais c'est ok car l'ambiance était cool. Il y avait quelques bands (quartet) qui jouaient du jazz, je m'arrêtais pour les écouter. Aujourd'hui, premier de mes 2 matchs des Mets. J'avais hâte de pouvoir comparer les 2 équipes! Stades: les Yankees ont un stade plus grand et plus récent, donc blanc et 'clean'. Cela donne une ambiance d'être dans une immense foule, sans plus. J'avais sensiblement le même billet, mais j'étais plus proche du terrain. Les couleurs des Mets sont le bleu et orange, donc dans le Citi Field, il y a beaucoup de couleurs, et de vie! L'ambiance d'un stade de balle est très vibrante. Bouffe: contrairement aux Yankees, les Mets ont des burgers et hot dogs végés! Je confirme que le hot dog est bon. Autre remarque: les sauces et condiments ne sont pas les mêmes.
