With the information and research I've gathered during my experience in Ghana, I've decided to finally begin the NPO I've been dreaming of and talking about for so long.

The name of the organization is Elisa Lanera Foundation (ELF), and our slogan is, "Proving that little can go a long way!"

We are a community development organization focusing on education and HIV/AIDS awareness in the poor areas around Capetown and Johannesburg. We are based out of New York and planning to establish ourselves in South Africa in roughly 2 years.

Right now we're still working on really getting things going. So far we've:
--Submitted our Certificate of Incorporation with the state of New York and waiting for 1 to 2 weeks to be officially declared as a business! And working on the other requirements and paperwork applicable to getting things officially started!
--Working on a finalized mission statement which will outline the goals, purpose, and values of ELF.
--We've also come a long way with forming the Board of Directors for ELF with the hopes of holding our first board meeting very shortly!
--Working on getting a website up and running! (Coming soon!)

Our first project that we have lined up is building a library in Abokobi, Accra. We have already established the plans for the building with an architectual connection in South Africa, with the hopes of beginning fundraising as soon as we have the means to do so!

If you are reading this and your business, organization, university, school, etc. have an interest in our cause, please feel free to email us at Elfhelpsafrica@gmail.com

Also, while our website is still under construction, we encourage you to visit our facebook group via the following link:
