I'm Home. . . looking back Tips for Travelers going to Ghana

Here are some tips and places to go; as good as I can come up with right now. January - February is supposed to be there very dry season, so expect it to be VERY HOT and dry for that matter. The places that I visited we were on a very tight budget to, but its very easy to get around without a problem, In my journal that I currently don't have with me I have the actual places we stayed in, for each place we went to. Thailand is a wonderful country, and I urge anyone even considering traveling to Southeast Asia to spend as much time as possible there. I already miss the: Food Culture Land Climate Cost Language Religion I returned home last night and have already gotten a huge dose of "real life" again (and cold and dry weather). Spent a large chunk of the day copying music from my 2 computers onto my mp3 player... and I finally just got my bag packed and weighed. All my stuff only weighs 26 lbs... and I'm pretty happy with that number. My flight leaves at 6pm, but I still don't feel like i'm actually going anywhere... not sure when it will actually hit me? My departure is set for just a few days from now. On October 6th to be exact. See attached map for the first leg of the trip....After 24 hrs of traveling I'll arrive on Saturday the 8th in Hong Kong on a red eye flight. You could say i'm excited, but that would be an understatement.. Been getting all my stuff together in the house.... Jess managed to take a picture of me trying on my one of my cool recent purchases- a 97 cent mosquito head net! She's going to be taking care of the pooch, fish and coral while I'm gone on my travels. Thanks Jess, you're the best! So I'm stocked with all of the usual stuff for my trip plus a full pharmacy of medications to help me ease pain, sleep, breath, ... read more

Where it all started...not the trip, but where it all began for me, in Rochester, NY, more properly the nice town of Penfield where I was born and raised, and where my parents still live. Item of interest: this site has this kind of hierarchical database of places. I browsed into N. America United States New York, but couldn't find Rochester. I did however find the 'Luci and Desi Museum'. I'm happy to report that Rochester and the museum are now at the same level of importance in said database. Sherry and I are in the middle of the N.
