... [more]The week was exhausting and right towards the end, the bakery called and needed a treasure chest made for the Chocolate Ball (benifit for the Epilepsy Foundation) on Saturday. Yeah, it was a big deal and she wanted me to do it. So, I went in at 3pm on Friday and left at 2am. 11 hours later, a treasure chest ready for the show... well, almost... a couple more hours of finishing touches Saturday sealed the deal. Now, the other part of this is that it's a competition and, although this was the best thing I had made to date, I had NO IDEA that what I would encounter when we dropped off the cake would be that astonishing! Ya know those shows on Food TV? Those chocolatiers that actually sculpt out of melted chocolate and airbrush their pieces? yeah! it was unbelievable and very humbling! As expected, we did
not win, but the cake was donated for a large sum to benefit the foundation! That's great news!
