Hi everybody who is still reading this blog. ☺ In the last several months since my last blog entry I have received a steady stream of comments from all sorts of folks asking how I am doing. It is always so cool to get comments. All of these comments also had in common one phrase: “I see it has been a long time since you have wrote.” And that it has. A long time. I am back in New York, New York, back in the US for the first time in almost eight months. With all of the traveling and moving [View Full Entry]

Next morning after a re-vote and a re-count of the miles to get to Cape Bredon (about 750 round trip) we decided to drive home before the rain can ruin the trailer. We have 2600 miles to go. So at 7am we start towards the US. Getting across New Bunswick takes hours (we are avg about 50 mph or 85 k because we can't drive too fast towing a trailer). Getting in to US as American's was much easier then getting into Canada, not that it was that bad. there was another check point in Maine after about 50 miles. Maine [View Full Entry]

We arrived at JFK airport after a slow, turbulent flight from Iceland. At JFK we finally got in a yellow taxi, Brooklyn bound. The driver did everything he could to get us lost, but with GIS maps in the back seat we fought back pretty hard and managed to get to our BnB despite his deliberate turnoffs and detours. The guesthouse is great; a warm cosy brownstone house on 38th St in Flatbush, Brooklyn. We found out that famous people who were born in this area include Busta Rhymes, Shaggy, Barbara Streisand (?) and Notorious BIG. Wahoo! Waking up the next [View Full Entry]

Tonight we travelled down to Little Italy to eat at a little Australian restaurant on Mulberry Street called Ruby's. Mulberry Street was holding a street fair to celebrate the Feast of San Gennaro, so we had a look around before we ate. The meal was great, and their coffee was spectacular. After dinner we crossed the street to have a beer at Eight Mile Creek, an Australian pub. We then walked up to Union Square and then along Park Avenue before heading home. [View Full Entry]

I stayed in New York for 5 days. I saw the Empire State Building. It was really big, the view was really good. We went on a ferry to see The Statue Of Liberty. On September 11 2001, terrorists crashed a plane into the World Trade Centre. 1000s of people died. It was really sad. They are starting to build a new building where The World Trade Centre used to be. On Fathers Day we went out for a special breakfast. We had pancakes with bananas and strawberries. It was really yummy!! We spent the rest of the day in Central [View Full Entry]

Going from Turkey to New York was a huge time difference. When we got into New York, it was 6:30pm. Unfortunately, we couldn’t just reset our body clocks like our digital ones. To us, it was past midnight. When we got to or accommodation, we literally collapsed onto the beds. When we woke up, it was 4:00am. The first day in New York was started out by going to the Empire State Building. We took 2 elevators up to the top. One went up 80 floors! From the top, the view of Manhattan was amazing! The people looked like little ants [View Full Entry]

We have spent the last week in an apartment in New York. We were only 300m from Central park. We got jet lagged a fair bit once we had landed in America, but we have got over that now. Our first day looking around we went to The Empire State building. It had great views of New York. We could even make out the Statue of Liberty in the Distance. The next day we passed the Statue of Liberty on the Staten Island ferry. It was smaller then I expected. On the same day we went to the World Trade centre [View Full Entry]
