AC and NYC

spring break
home to pittsburgh to do 'fun stuff like.. your taxes and buying new shoes and looking for a house'for a few days, then it was off again.

drive to phili, take train into city, bus to Atlantic city and spend a night at the Tropicana w/ Hoffman and Casarsa while trading money for a resolve not to return to a casino for a very long time. (for the record, it was $144)

drive to NYC- my first real trip to NYC and i'm crashing w/ Andrew Casarsa at his parents amazing apt on E96 a block from central park. last night i went from picking my dinner (a seabass) from a tank to sitting in an afghan hookah bar drinking turkish beer in under 10 minutes. today it's looking to be the 'Bodies' exhibit i saw in Pittsburgh, a night 'out' and then tomorrow i'm hoping to walk central park and do some bouldering on 'rat rock' that i've recently been reading about online..

day 2 had my first 'real' hot dog at Papaya's- hot dog shop that also specializes in papaya flavored slushy things. anthony bordain reviewed it (on wall in shop) and apparently it's right up there w/ permanti bros in pittsburgh.

out to bars around 51st st. -turtle bay and black fin. unfortunately black fin had an all you can drink special.. and night's events disappear, but i do have proof of life- Jasmine, a hooker i met on the subway, gave me her phone number- 646-462-2701 for 'next time'


day 3: tried to leave and walked from E96 through central park to times square, then over to rockafeller center. bouldering in central park was teh equivalent of a small climbing wall, and due to the sunny day and 55F weather, there were a half dozen climbers on the rocks. after the rocks, i called cassie because i was planning to go back down to phili and go out there w/ them for st. patty's, but by a weird twist of fate casarsa had invited them to nyc during hte last night's shenanigans and they endedup coming on up to nyc and we had another night of bar hopping in the 50's. during this escapade, we went to a wine and tapas bar, then a notehr bar where i was hit on by a 6'2" model who said i was 'cute'. yep, i htink i'll be back up to new york again in the near future..
