Hey everyone, I am doing great over here. It was a whole adventure and I am still experiencing new things. There isnt been a thing yet I couldnt overcome, so no thing to worry about. Satuday morning at 2:00 (8:00 european time) I woke up to drive to dusseldorf airport. You always hear those stories about forgetting your password or your flight ticket... Well, I forgot my GPS. Luckily i found out after 3 minutes driving so I drove back to pick it up :P. On dusseldorf, which I couldnt get a parking ticket online on the site, was a hell [View Full Entry]

We've finally arrived after an 8hr flight, exhausted but ready for our adventure ahead! We only stepped out of the plane and already nearly conned by what seemed to be dodgy looking taxi drivers but we dodged pass them after we whacked them with our bags, they never saw that coming! We have now arrived safely at our hostel, looks a bit run down but cosy for our romantic night in. Now we're off to get some food, speak soon Love C&A xxxx [View Full Entry]

NY - Few Days of Wandering! 08-12-2009 By: Aref Hareb IF you raise your head up to the sky, and the buildings are blocking the sun. If you are walking as fast as you can and you feel that you are too slow. If you are looking for a place to sit at and find no place but the side walks. If you take a look at the streets and you find that the “Yellow Cars” are covering them, then you are definitely in the middle of the Big Apple, New York City! I planned to visit NY in the summer [View Full Entry]

Breakfast in NY
We awoke on Thursday morning later, and packed up to check out of our first hotel. We left our luggage with the hotel, and had some breakfast at a fab deli. Pancakes and maple syrup! We then headed along to the Waldorf Astoria to see if there was any chance of an early check-in. The Waldorf is so grand, and busy. We went to the reception, and the gentleman took our names, he said "oh, you've been upgraded to a suite, a very nice suite". We tried to play it cool, we'd already booked a suite, but only a small one! [View Full Entry]

Up early to return the rental car... and head to City Hall to get our marriage licence. Wed been pre-warned to arrive early as it can be busy. We hailed a taxi down to the Financial District, and found City Hall. We went in and were confronted with a big reception desk, and a bloke who asks why you are there. He then pushes a button and gives you a specific ticket, then tells you to wait in line. It was a bit like waiting for your goods in Argos. There are computer screens showing the numbers and telling you which [View Full Entry]

Woogy

First Day - away we go! We left Aberdeen at 630am to head to Heathrow, after only 3 hours sleep - far too excited!!! As we were flying BA, we had 2 hours to look around the new T5, before heading off to NY!! Our flight was delayed as someone tried to board with an expired passport - grrrr! Laura was panicking as we had tickets to a concert in Pennsylvania that evening, and time was tight. As the flight boarded, in blocks of rows, we were almost last to head up. As we got to the boarding desk, the [View Full Entry]

Woke very yet again & Becc not so good, had a bite to eat & then took a taxi down to the South Seaport Dock. We were catching a Water taxi for a tour along the Hudson River. This took us up the river & to the Statue of Liberty. the tour was refreshing & entertaining. Got some terrific photos of the Statue, an outstanding 45 minutes on the Hudson. Next stop Ground Zero worksite where 9/11 happened, this is a massive area of construction where they are rebuilding the twin towers. They have not named these buildings yet but they [View Full Entry]
