Dear All, We left DC on the morning of the 4th November with Jeff and met Julian at the halfway point to Hershey PA. From there we drove through some of the most beautiful countryside we have seen so far. The autumnal colours were out in full force and the Appalcians looked amazing. Pennsylvania has some of the most wonderful countryside and is the perfect place to view the Fall in all its glory. We arrived at Julian and Jeanettes' beautiful house in Hummelstown and had a quick lunch before Jeanette took us on a drive of the local area. One [View Full Entry]

Oh my. I'm so so sorry I haven't written anything in so long, but then I always was hopeless at keeping a diary of any sort. In my defence (with a C, not an S), I've barely had time to sit down and call people, not to mention e-mail or blog, and I kind of wanted to wait until I had some pretty pictures to show you and exciting stuff to say. Now I have both and I can hear the roars of appreciation from you all, so here goes. Over the next few days, I'm going to try and write [View Full Entry]

As I left off saying, Milwaukee was our next stop, however, because of the atrocious Monday morning Chicago traffic mixed together with the fact that we didn't know what the hell was going on it took us a good 3 and a half hours to arrive at Sussex in Milwaukee. The company we visited was called Autologic and they develope and sell gas anylizers and smoke meters among other things. We only had a 2 hour window to receive a quick rundown on the equipment we wanted and it was straight onto the Hwy again for Milwaukee airport heading for Cleveland. [View Full Entry]

It's a bit of a retrospective post, this one, but he's been bugging me non-stop about when his visit is going to appear on my blog =0P. If you MUST know, I was waiting for photos to be developed. Now that I've joined the digital revolution, my mega camera now only comes out on very special occasions. I've finally had the remaining film developed though and now, by means of this glorious little anecdote (which I'm sure you all appreciated) I can say here you go hun, this one's for you. So far anyone that doesn't know already and hasn't had [View Full Entry]

Jodes' Top Ten List.. .. Things To Do in New York City (all tried and tested by yours truly) 1. Lounge beside the running track (around the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir) in Manhattan’s Central Park munching on soft bake chocolate chip cookies and watch the joggers reactions. 2. Strap all your worldly possessions to yourself (a money belt helps) and fall asleep in Central Park. It’s for the buzz you get between waking up and checking you still have all your stuff. 3. Chase squirrels. It's the American equivalent of chasing pigeons in England [View Full Entry]

I just got back from New York, NY, visiting my best friend Jake and his girlfriend Liz. They live in the lower west side of Manhattan, right near NYU and Soho...Their apartment is 2x as big as my Jeep Cherokee and, needless to say, we were a bit cramp. But being so close to each other brought some great times. Jake works for a music television station called Fuse and is somewhat handy with a video camera. After compiling all his footage from our graduation roadtrip a couple summers ago, he made this amazing "movie" (and its a real movie!) of [View Full Entry]

So my first travleing adventure after college (not that college wasn’t an adventure on it's own) was New York City! I had a 6 month scholarship with the American Foundation for the Blind working in their Communication Department. The job was only a small part my time there, the best memories come from the friends I made. I lived in the Menno House (it was first started by Mennonites, and is affordable housing for students, volunteers and such), though I'm not Mennonite and not everyone living there was. It was a rough start, most of my roommates didn't like me, but [View Full Entry]

Well, after 4 weeks of travelling across the United States and into Canada I have now made it back to New York. I had an amazing trip, met some fantastic people and had lots of laughs. The highlights of the trip for me were completing a 12 mile hike in Glacier National Park with breath taking views, enjoying a fish supper in Seattle, going to Alcatraz and spending a day at good old Disneyland! I now have 6 nights in NYC before I come home. [View Full Entry]

OK - Dave here again. Time to catch up with what's been happening since my last post back in Quebec City. We're currently in NYC & I can honestly say it's the first time on the trip that I want time to slow down. Don't know if anyone else does this - but normally I get about half way through a holiday and I start counting down the days until I have to go home. And the more you want them to slow down - the faster they seem to go! Well I've not been doing that on this trip probably [View Full Entry]
