After Philadelphia, we made some anchoring stops on the Delaware where we were invaded by flies of large size that bite, so we had to close up and stay inside in the heat. Cape May remains a lovely summer place but mainly touristic minded. The Atlantic Ocean was calm and made our trip towards New York enjoyable with an anchoring stop in Atlantic City to meet up with the flies again. We spent two days at anchor in Sandy Hook with a view of Manhattan when the weather is clear which wasn’t the case that weekend. It was the first time in a long very while that we had rain almost all day.
We then sailed the East River on a beautiful morning and got to see Manhattan, United Nations, lots of commercial traffic of all kinds. The East River joins the Long Island Sound and being the weekend, there was a lot of boat traffic. Our next blog will cover Long Island.

Glad to hear you enjoyed New York. Sorry I missed your Skype.Tried to get you back but could not get through. Kids back from France, they had a great trip. Victoria caught something on the last few days which became worst with flight back, she has a nasty Bronchitis which we had to see doctor for, finally with meds she starting to feel better. We leave on Monday afternoon for Canada on vacation. Hope your trip continues to go well. Love christine
