Landed in NYC

So we had an uneventful flight to Newark -- actually arrived 1/2 hour early. Then had the "experience" of a 45 min traffic jam at the Lincoln Tunnel. Got to the Youth Hostel just fine and quickly headed out. We visited my father's apt. first as he lives around the corner from here. Up to the 11th floor to say hello and throw paper airplanes out the window. (This is what Matthew does every visit to granpa's.) :) Then down to Grand Central Station to view probably one of the most beautiful train stations. A short walk to the Empire State Building and a VERY LONG line for the elevator. The kids were good sports, but it was about as much as they could stand. Next, they negotiated a stretch limo ride outside the Empire State to Carneige Deli where the sandwiches are mountains. (Stay tuned for pictures)... Full stomaches and very late, we got to the Youth hostel at 1:30 AM and crashed. Everyone is well.
