Sunset and the CityIt was 18 degrees with a VERY strong wind atop Rockefeller Center when I took this--it looks a LOT better than it felt at the time.
No folks, it's obviously not Valentine's Day, despite the date I chose for this blog entry, my first in 3 weeks. Here's what's happening:
Since the cessation of the back pain mentioned in the prior blog (Feb. 13th) I have been able to function more normally, which means I have virtually doubled how much I'm able to do each day. The "one activity, then exhaustion" day planner has been replaced by a second, a third, and a fourth activity most days. Instead of arriving home at 4 pm and having hours of 'down time' in front of the computer, writing these blogs, I now arrive home at midnight or later and head straight for bed. Also, I have been using my good camera for the majority of the photos I take, (and I have been taking many more images per day, up to 8 gigabytes each) which entails several additional processing steps in Photoshop (RAW files converted to TIFFs enhanced in Photoshop then converted to JPEGs). I am many days behind in readying images, and several weeks behind in my blog entries--but since this is our last week in New York, I continue to cram as many experiences as possible into every 24 hour period.
I have not given up on this blog, however--I enjoy writing them, I know what entries I want to make, what aspects of the city I want to address, what photos I want to show: I just don't have time to do it now! After a week with family (Grandkids!) in Michigan, we return home to Vancouver on 3/18--if I haven't done so before then I will definitely resume these blogs during my first week back.
So sit tight and check back from time to time--there's SO MUCH more yet to come!
