We arrived at the Brettschneider's at about 11:30AM. Sarah and Liz happily attacked Lisa as soon as she emerged from the car. It was a reunion after about two years for Sarah and Lisa, who have been friends since kindergarten. It was a first time meeting for Lisa and Liz who have been internet friends for almost two years and who have been anxious to meet in person.
After chatting with the two moms, Vince slipped away to have some lunch, check out the area, replenish some supplies, and find a place (with internet access) to stay. Amazingly, this was the first time Lisa and I had been separated in two weeks! Rates are considerably higher in New York than we have become accustomed to in the rest of the country, so I need to do some mental adjustments to say "OK". I saw a Sunoco gas station near the hotel with a price of 3.47 for regular! I'll wait.
I checked into a place 15 miles away (the only closer option had no vacancies!), spent some time at the pool, organized some souvenirs, made a reservation at the PHL airport for tomorrow night, and worked on the expense
spreadsheet and gas mileage calculator, in addition to this update. We had fallen a little behind on those updates as we had focused each night on this blog and picture uploads and selection as the priority. Back to the Brettschneider's for dinner. It is still hot (95 today and heading higher tomorrow). it could be hotter, I guess (see local church sign picture). Tomorrow morning we work our way to Philadelphia via the two grandmothers' places in PA.
