Since we have left our lake life, we have resumed our wandering from one family’s house to another. We are certainly making up for all the winter months when we don’t see our children for extended periods. We are loving being with all of them....just hope the feeling is mutual. Before we had to leave the lake cottage, we were thrilled to meet up with our Tropical Palms friends, Jill & Bob. They were staying at a campground fairly close to Keuka Lake. We met at The Switzerland Inn on the Lake for a yummy lunch. It was terrific being with them again. They are so much fun. They have been traveling around New York State this summer. From here, they were heading to Buffalo and then Indiana. Safe travels, dear friends. More of our families ... read more

Saturday, September 22 We had purchased a combination ticket for the Corning Glass Museum that also allowed for entrance to the Rockwell Museum of Western Art located further into the downtown of Corning. So, we started out the day driving back into the town of Corning and past the glass factory to the Art Museum. This was one of the best museums I have been in, housed in a 3 story building that used to be the City Hall, built in 1893. It had just the right sized collection to not exhaust you nor overload your senses with "too much.” The paintings/art were displayed on brightly painted walls that was a real pleasant surprise. We saw a horse bronze that was by the same artist as one like it in the museum in Fairbanks, ... read more

Thursday, September 20th, afternoon Hit the road south again following 414 to the town of Corning. After we crossed under the Interstate, there was a big parking lot for the CorningGlassMuseum, which we pulled into. From here you can take a shuttle bus to the museum, the Museum of Western Art, and downtown Corning. We waited a little bit for the next shuttle and then boarded the bus. We were really surprised when the GlassMuseum was about 2 blocks away! We first ate lunch in their cafeteria and then spent the rest of the afternoon touring the Corning Museum of Glass. Absolutely a fabulous facility with glass demonstrations and exhibits, a glass collection equal to none that chronicles the history of glass from the beginning of glass making to modern times, and a huge sales department. ... read more

Welcome to our travel blog site. We hope you have accepted our invitation to join us on our travels through this site. We shall try to make our entries as often as we can. We are NOT packed and ready to go YET...even though we want to leave in less than a week. One of our new mottos is "Take it Easy"--- so we are. First things first: we are going to Canandaigua, NY this weekend with our RV for a fun family gathering with our children and grandchildren. We shall hustle around (but take our time while hustling) once we get back home to gather up our "long trip" necessities. We shall take off on our adventure as soon as we can. When will that be?---SOON. We have a clock in the RV that tells ... read more
