<------WATCH VIDEOS!
Well all... It's been a whirlwind of a week for many reasons, but it finally came to end while listening to the most unbelievable bluegrass I've heard live.
Friday night... the long awaited Chris Thile and How to Grow A Band show in Buffalo.

He is, as some of you know, one of my two favorite mandolin players... not to mention... my future husband if I can make things work my way. In any case, I had second row tix, but the first row was set down so low that I had a full view (which, you know for my height is rare!). In any case, I think these pictures might be some of my best concert ones. Uh... it was just an unbelievable show.
Actually, the openers were just wonderful as well!
Absolutely beautiful harmony and the 3 of them would interchange instruments as they sang and played. It was beautiful.

Saturday, Matt and I headed back to Buffalo for the session at a great pub there. Some background info...
Those of you here know I kind came home from Ireland in need of a "slight" detox. It's
been five and a half months and Friday night, Matt FORCED me to down 2 of the most delicious pints that I've ever had in the states. I mean, seriously, he was literally pouring it down my throat. And, NO, it was not because I had not had a pint in so long that they tasted so good... seriously... they were just perfect! I couldn't get over it. So, 1/4 of the way through the first pint, I was light in the head, 1/2 of it gave me a buzz, a full pint and I even had trouble maneuvering in the restroom, 1.5 pints and I couldn't even play Kesh Jig so I put the whistle away, quickly... and 2 pints... Matt had to drive to the Altan show! I was worried because he initially couldn't even get the car in the right gear, but turns out, he's never driven a Mazda before or something?
The Altan show was good, but it didn't blow my mind. The singer's voice was literally to perfection and I had to help Matt contain himself as she is to be his future wife and he's known this for 10 years, at least. So...
we had some funny moments realizing the difference between Buffalonians and Rochestarians and had quite a laugh about it.
In any case, we made it home safe and sound.
The rest of the weekend... full of music and laughter.
Twas good...
Hope all of you are well.
Enjoy the picts
(ps... I know I overloaded the Thile picts, but I just couldn't decide! Sorry!)
Videos from "Breakin' the fast with some fast pickin' and fast fiddlin'!!!!":
Sometymes WhyThis (also in the video) is a song about Crayons and not being able to find the right color for "your eyes"... great great great tune.
Ok... I wish... ... I could begin to tell the story of this, but there's no way I can recreate the moment of me trying to survive playing Kesh with my 1/4 beer buzz and this guy coming through the door, back lighting
