THERE ARE VIDEOS ATTACHED TO THIS BLOG... PLEASE WATCH! ---------------------
What a wonderful weekend I just had. The week was rough... had to finish the cakes and it wore me out a bit.
Hopefully these pictures, of my home and surrounding areas, will give some of you a better idea of what's it's like where I live!
My grandma's birthday was Saturday and we all gathered at Mom & Charlie's house for an evening with the family! Definately fun and I got to see some people on my mother's side of the family that I rarely see so... it was good... the food was delicious (thanks Charlie & Ma) and the cake was a hit... My Grandmother loved it... So, that was definately fun!
From there I went straight to Hemlock for a party that the harp player from one of the sessions throws yearly. It was the most amazing things I have seen, musically, around here and I was just in heaven. At one point, there were 6 sessions happening in their home! They were Cajun, Bluegrass and Irish and it was just amazing. Some of these Canjun and Bluegrass players were just unbelievable... So, it
was that night that I really realized I have been slowly, but surely, falling in love with the fiddle... um... might have to do something about that.
PLEASE WATCH VIDEO! We'll see... Anywho, I found a cumfy, yes safe, spot to sleep and camped in the car... awoke in the morning and took the most beautiful, all-day drive across the upper part of the state. Of course, I made it MUCH more senic than it needed to be and took all the rural roads leading through the small villages... it was awesome. I drove up and down 2 of the finger lakes (Seneca and Cayuga) and then arrived at my destination...
Yeah... a tiny, little, white church nestled deep in the woods... well, there was a small clearing, but still! It was in the middle of nowhere and I totally loved it. Lúnasa was unbelievable. The energy in there was just amazing and they played a kick ass show... it was a really special little place.
PLEASE WATCH VIDEO! I arrived home at 4am on Monday morning... would you believe I forgot to look at the gas gauge and wasted 1 hour becuase
I ran out on the thruway? oy...
Anywho... it was a rough day monday, but I survived...
Wonderful weekend of music... the session was beautiful last night and tonight is the learners session...

a quote (thanks MH)
'I should have never come back home,
It dont seem right since I've been grown,
I cant find any of my old friends hanging 'round,
nothing gets you down like your hometown'.
'Hometown Blues' by Steve Earle.
