Drove 140 miles to Stewart's Point camping area in Lake Mead NRA (free dry camping area.)

Drove 44 miles to Las Vegas Wash Campground in Lake Mead NRA. It's about 8 miles from Henderson and is a good place to camp when you need to do errands in town.

Friday Nov. 21, 2008
Planned on getting the new tires for the Bug I had ordered at Discount Tire installed but on the way there the Bug stopped running. It acted like it had run out of gas. Called CoachNet and they had a truck bring us some gas. Put it in and the engine still would not start. I started checking out the fuel line and fuel filter and found that no gas was being pumped to the Carb. What I ended up finding was that the fuel pump had broken. Ended up calling CoachNet again & they sent out a tow truck to take us and the Bug back to the campground. While waiting for the truck to arrive, a Las Vegas local stopped to see if he could help. When I told him I had a truck coming and would need to get a new Fuel Pump he offered to take me to Auto Zone to pick one up. Wendy stayed with the Bug in case the tow truck got there before I got back. We got back with the new pump as the Bug was being pulled onto the flatbed. The truck took us back to the campground and once back I put the new fuel pump in and checked the timing since I had to take the distributor out to get the old pump out and install the new one. Once it was all back together, it started right up.

Saturday Nov. 21, 2008
Today we made it to Discount Tire to get the new tires on the Bug. While they were being put on, we walked over to Olive Garden for lunch. When we finished lunch and got back, the tires had all been installed. On the way back to the campground, we stopped at WalMart for some supplies.

Sunday Nov. 22, 2008
Drove 78 miles to Terrible's Lakeside Casino & RV Park in Pahrump, Nevada. We arrived in time to get set up and watch the Broncos lose to Oakland. Drove over to the Doghouse VW repair to pickup the parts I ordered. We also met up with Wendy's parents and will be travleing with them for awhile.

Monday Nov. 23, 2008
Wendy did 5 loads of laundry this morning and I worked on the VW some. Drove into town and had lunch at Panda Express then did grocery shopping. For dinner we had the Buffet at Terribles.
Tomorrow we head to Death Valley.
