Today we shopped!! When we were at the outlet mall on Wednesday afternoon we noticed that the 4th of July Sale was running from 6/29 until 7/4 i.e. the 29th of June until the 4th of July. So we decided to make Wednesday a reconnaissance mission, while we waited for check-in time at the MGM Signature, and return to make our purchases today. I think that was worthwhile as they had quite a few shops with 'bogo' deals - buy one, get one half price. By the time we bought a pair of shoes each at a couple of shops we had purchased some pretty cheap shoes.
Driving back along Las Vegas Boulevard we stopped to take a photo of the Welcome to Las Vegas sign along with the hordes of other tourists and one bridal party doing the same thing. Back at our apartment we were surprised to find a bottle of champagne on the dining room table. Thank you Loren & Gidge! We popped it into the freezer to chill it down quickly as we were running out of time to be able to enjoy it. We spent the rest of the afternoon repacking our bags while we sipped champagne!
With our bags pretty much ready to go we changed our clothes and walked back to the MGM Grand again - we have clocked up quite a few miles between the MGM Grand and the MGM Signature Apartments. Tonight we went to to see David Copperfield at the MGM Theatre. We had to see at least one show while we were in Las Vegas! It was a toss up between David Copperfield at the MGM and the Australian Bee Gees Show over at Excalibur. We enjoyed David Copperfield but, even after watching him perform 'live', we have absolutely no idea how he does any of his illusions. They were amazing!!
After a late dinner I went back to our room and Bernie returned to the Blackjack table with his two US$25 chips to try his luck. He wasn't going to be long, but didn't return to the room until after 2.00am!! When I woke up at 1.00am I was a bit worried about whether he was gambling away the house?? He finished up US$25 down after three days in Vegas ... and then there was the US$50 that I lost instantaneously on the roulette wheel!
