There is a saying about how things that happen in a certain city in Nevada, stay in that same city in Nevada. Not the type to insult local traditions or customs, we hereby have an excuse to deliver a very lazy (and yes, we know, very late...) blog entry!
So just a bit of background - the reason for being in Vegas was the 30th birthday of our good friend Josh from Sydney. When back in Sydney earlier in the year Jen made a somewhat flippant - some may argue drunk - suggestion that Josh should fly to Vegas where we'd meet him and celebrate this fine milestone. Little was mentioned about it after that night, and we were well into our stay in Vancouver when an email let us know Josh and Brett (aka Marnae) were on their way to Sin City!
And so we took the bus across the border to check out downtown Seattle, and take a cheap domestic flight. And there the story must end...
with the exception of saying:
- Jen is a gun at the game of craps
- Jeff found ample opportunities to wear his loud, 'I'm on vacation'
Hawaiian shirt
- Marnae should be a professional cover-band drum stick catcher
- Josh was converted to the joys of buffet 'dining'..to the point of buffetolism
- the Hoover Dam was hot, but pretty darn impressive
- the Grand Canyon, wow!!
- a great deal of fun was had and somehow nobody went backrupt!
