KFC is voted the best fast food by Nordic judges. What was once a cheap way to feed the family when you felt lazy has won the coveted golden Swedish Crown award for best fast food in America, weird I was rooting for the underdog tatar tots(sometimes you have to hate big corporate America always squashing the little guy). Amazingly after a quick check of my pockets I am only down 5 dollars…….. So for those of you that don’t believe in blind luck let me regale you with a story. Our hero Tom sits down at the roulette table and plays black or red and wins a little, I advised a more risky strategy but the 50/50 odds seemed to appeal to Tom or maybe he was suffering from original recipe toxic syndrome, after a rather average run Tom throws down on just a single number and wins (what the *#&$). After watching me lose my $70 in slot winnings we decide to adjourn to the bar and drink some beers and play video poker (for those that don’t know you can play video poker games everywhere in Vegas). Surprisingly enough they serve my old friend from central California Firestone ale (here’s the funny part I had it for the first time in a Swedish tourist town called Slovang, eerie if you ask me). At this point Olof is tiring to master video black jack with little luck but he was a good coach to Tom at the roulette table so we may have a niche for him counting cards later. As I go back and forth winning/ losing I was able to fund several hours of fun for twenty dollars, of course Tom hits 4 aces and wins a $100 (what the *&^%), it’s at this point that Tom shouts out “I love Wegas”. I have to admit I left the Swedes in the wee hours of the morning and now after a quick jaunt to the pool have to round them up, hope the survival notes I pinned to their shirts did the trick. Today should be a long day of touring the Strip and thanks to Shannon I see a rollercoaster in my future.
