Viva Las Vegas

So we left San Diego to a rain storm , 24 hours of torrential rain and i got soaked to the skin , we had got to the airport and the flight was delayed to we just pondered around in the airport for a few hours.
We arrived in Vegas and it was below freezing but we had expected that as we checked the weather before hand and it was also forecast for snow , snow in Vegas the desert ,exactly what i was thinking no chance, so we got a cab to head to the hotel and was telling the driver that it was forecast for snow he started laughing and said it was just a cold snap and the week before it was warm , he said he had lived here for 30 years and he had only seen snow on the mountains , we had arrived at the Hotel Excalibur which was based on a castle theme it was huge and very impressive as is every hotel in Vegas which i later found out, we had booked the hotel online as it was only $36 for a room per night compared to $30 for a 8 bed dorm room in a hostel , so i opted for the little luxury and opted for the hotel , we had just booked the basic room and when we checked in Lisa went to work on the guy at check in , now seriously this girl can talk for Australia and after about 5 minutes of non stop talking the guy eventually gave up and gave us an upgraded room for free woohoo GO LISA !!, now dont get the wrong idea it was a room with 2 queen beds not 1 king size ,the room was huge and it was amazing to have a bit of luxury for a wee change , it also had a 42" plasma tv which may not sound that good but i havent watched tv since i left in Nov . That night we headed out for food at one of the many restaurants in the hotel and went to a place called Dicks The Shame Of The Strip, this place the staff are rude to you and are nasty to you so we went in to get insulted and eat lol now in here they make you a hat and right rude things on it , i wasnt impressed with mines as it said 'Im English so the only thing stiff on me is my upper lip ' i told the dude i was Scottish and not English ,his response was same fucking difference just wear it and shut up,i should have taken offence but i was rolling around laughing it was classical ,Lisas hat said 'he's tossed my salad so many times i call him Ceaser' lol after that we went around a few casinos , now you cant come to Vegas and not gamble so i had set my budget at $100 for the 4 days , but in Vegas as long as you are gambling the free drinks will flow so after a few hours and a few drinks later i was down $80 , now i really should have given up then but it was so addictive , a little win then losing then winning i couldnt stop , then came my win finally..... 4 $$$$ and $700 richer ,you little beauty , now with the advice of Lisa i collected my winnings as i probably would have kept on going and lost it all lol

The next day i had a lye in as it was a late night and there is nothing much to do during the day, but when i got up and opened the blinds the view was to dye for , the Vegas strip and the snowy mountains in the back drop was spectacular .We headed down the strip to have a look around and book our Grand Canyon trip , the strip isnt that big but everything thats in it is huge the hotels and casinos are amazing there is so much detail in every hotel they have thought of everything, and it has the biggest hotel in the world which i didnt know is the MGM Grand , although its the biggest as in more rooms the bellagio and ceasers palace and the wynn are out of this world , that night we headed out for some drinks and had got a few cocktails which sent us on our way , as pretty much everywhere was quiet we asked the girl at the bar where was good on a tuesday night and she told us to head over to Ceasers Palace hotel and casino as there is a club in there called Pure , so we headed over passing the water fountain show at the bellagio ,when we arrived at Ceasers Palace the place was again amazing very grand ,the queue was huge at the club with some very smartly dressed and good looking people there ( i fitted right in hehe ) once in it was $30 for guys and girls went in free, so sexist , the club was jumping and you could hardly move , the music was really good and it was fun to be there amongst the beautiful people , the club had an upper level which was out doors and looking along the strip ,very impressive i thought , we stayed in there for a bit but it was $15 a drink and although great music and gorgeous girls , it was full of wannabees and you couldnt go to certain parts of the club as they had been taken what ever that meant .

Next day got up and i was excited as the day before we had booked our helicopter Grand Canyon tour , now this was top of my to do list on this trip and i had really been looking forward to it, i still had a day to go but i was buzzing , that morning i went for breakfast, and stepped outside afterwards and it was snowing ,now i thought it wont lye but it got heavier and heavier and before i knew it 3 inches had fallen and everything came to a stand still in outdoors in vegas as they hadnt had anything to clear the roads ( they dont have snow trucks in vegas ),the news said snow hasnt fallen like this in Las Vegas since 1979, then came the phone call to cancel the Canyon trip , i was soo gutted....they said they could do it on saturday but that was too late ,we spent most of the day in the hotel as it was wild out , they shut the roads and the airport , so being gutted about that and the weather i was feeling shit and started to feel homesick....a little lol, but didnt last long and went gambling with my winnings again , losing $200 i thought il quit while im still up and called it a night.

Next day i done a bit more shopping as the snow had cleared a bit and i got free tickets to the Tournament of Kings show, before the show i went on one last flutter with my money and won $60 and that was it no more gambling for me , i can see how it gets addictive especially here , they tease you with wins then they get you drunk because your happy then the take it all back , but i was smart lol seen the show tonight and it was good fun , it was like a banquet dinner and show , and now have just booked my flight to LA tomorrow, i had planned on taking the bus but its only $20 more to fly and with me being flush i thought why not hehe and ive booked a hotel in Beverly hills for 3 nights before heading to Fiji on monday .

My Summary of Las Vegas

It is a wonderful and facanating place , there is something happening at every turn , the hotels and casinos are huge and very spectaclar ,the people here are the friendliest people i have met so far, its also very expensive compared to the other places i have been in the USA but you can get by cheap if you blag your way to 2 for 1 deals which may sound stingy but it works out normal price if you can do that , i was soo gutted about the canyon tour but i will come back again ,next time in the summer and see it,as for the snow it was good to be one of the ones who was here when it happened as it may be another 30 years before it happens again , bloody global warming yeah right ,more like new ice age
