I visited the Monte Carlo and Bally's today. I stopped by the Bellagio again. as well as the Paris. This time, I was much more impressed with the Paris, since I walked around more inside. I loved the crepes!! I missed them so much since I came back from France last January. I wish my best friend was here to share them with.
I met up Mandy at Treasure Island, and I met several of the Cirque du Soleil performers and crew there, including a former Romanian Olympian (I think he competed in 1988). We talked about gymnastics for a bit, but we didn't have much time. I was invited to be seated in the Light Tower to view the Mystere show...courtesy of one of their performers! It was a wonderful show!!
We went to her friend's margarita house party, which was pretty low-key and full of food and margarita machines everywhere. I talked to one of the guests who had been traveling the world, and it was pretty fascinating to hear the stories. It was cool, too, that he writes in his journal about it. It made me want to make my international travel plans sooner than I
had scheduled them! Travel excites me very much.
Then Mandy, her co-worker Brett, and I met up some of their friends in the Vegas DESERT to watch the meteors! We picked a spot to park and rest. We set out towels and blankets and pillows. The ground was kind of hard and had a lot of small rocks everywhere, and sometimes some beetle-like bugs would buzz a little too close to us! It was actually kind of chilly too! There were millions of stars in the sky...we swore we could see the whole Milky Way from where we sat! It was absolutely stunning. The easiest constellation to recognize was the Big Dipper. Around 2 a.m., we did see the biggest meteor of the night...clearly shooting across the sky, large and glowing red!
Back at Mandy's condo, I stayed in her cheerful rainbow themed-room, and it was very comfortable. She was a very nice host.
