Hello Blog Fans!
Here we are in the last days of summer and as I keep a watchful eye on hurricanes churning in the Caribbean, I am also busy squeezing in all the fun I can!
I stopped in New Orleans to visit with my sister, Rachellle and her hubby, Jim. I got some school planning done, picked up some pointers from Rache (stole some lesson plans from her too), had great meals prepped by Jim, and let both of them spoil me silly.
I had a whirlwind week in Illinois with the Gabriels. Complete with zoos, flus and lots of fun. I had a great time but it never feels like we get to do all things we want to do. Just means I'll have to visit again.
I've spent this weekend in Las Vegas with the Hart family. Eric just turned 1 year old and got baptized. It's been a packed few days of celebrations - birthday, baptism and just catching up. I'll be here until Wednesday. I have a quick stop in Miami for supplies before I head back to the Bahamas. School starts for us on September 5th.
I just wanted to
take a few minutes and thank everyone who made this an awesome summer. In France - the Bogrand Family. In England, Felicity, Christine and Paul. In the states, my family, the Gabriels, and the Harts. Thanks to Allen for suggesting the blog idea in the first place. But most of all THANKS to my traveling partner-in-crime, Stacey without whom there would be no one to share the inside jokes of seeing the entire population of China in France, "I hate this country," stairs and more stairs, loving life in a barn, and tons of other things that require explanations to anyone other than us. So thanks everyone! And thanks for reading my blog.
Signing off with much love until my next summer adventure... Ricki
