In every walk with Nature one receives far more than he seeks. John Muir We awoke in Ranchester, WY, at the Lazy R Campground. We were up early to start our trek across the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming. The early morning shadows along with the magnificent scenery was breathtaking. The climb was significant and we kept viewing signs indicating different geological indicators of rock and period. The Pennsylvanian, Mississippian, Dovorian, etc. are all represented and marked. When we left the temperature was almost 50 degrees and the elevation was about 4,000 feet, w [View Full Entry]

Beyond words is my excitement for this up coming trip. Beyond words. We watched a promo video today of the company and I had shivers throughout and found tears almost welling up behind my eyes. Honestly. Everyone is incredibly nice here, no divas or cliques. It's the most amazing feeling being in a room of 50 some people, all of whom actually want to be there. I've running off adrenaline all day as I've gotten very little sleep the past couple nights- monday night- packing and cleaning and stressing, last night- the most uncomfortable matress in the world. I think the [View Full Entry]

I'll keep it short as I've got a ton of memorizing to do and dinner at 5. -Arrived at 12:30 -Airport full of stuffed dead animals but the people seem nice enough -Staying at the University of Montana in the Dorms -Dorms have gun rooms (to store your guns) Hmm... I have a feeling I'm not on the west coast any more... -Limited internet- in regards to time and access - Training goes from 9:30am to 8pm everyday, have to check out a key for the computer room, and in a few days we head up to [View Full Entry]

The need for change bulldozed a road down the center of my mind. ~Maya Angelou This is just the beginning...I am in Bozeman, Montana, my home for the last 5 years, where I have gone to university, grown up, loved and lost, and made leaps across the globe. My first leap was Kathmandu, Nepal and what a leap it was! My second was to England, mainly London but I had a brief stint in Paris, France! And now I am back in that familiar airport terminal of life, waiting for my plane to be called. I am joining the Peace Corps. [View Full Entry]

Hey everyone, I know it's been a while, so I'll try to get somewhat up to date on what I've been up to the last week or two. I am in Bozeman now, and have been here a little over a week. It's a fun little place, I guess a big city by Montana standards, but still small compared to what I'm used to in CA. My only complaint so far is no late night food except the Pita Pit which I don't plan to visit again. So, last I wrote I was leaving Jackson for Idaho I believe. I drove [View Full Entry]

Wow, only 53 days in counting till I am in Europe. I am soo excited but so nervous. I am wondering if there are big things that I am forgetting to do. Hopefully, everything will come together at the end. I have never done anything like this so it is a first of adventures for me. We (the group I am going with) booked our hostels in London, Paris, and Amsterdam. In London we are staying at St. Christopher's Village. I guess it has a spa and a sauna on the rooftop that overlooks the entire city. It is near Soho, which I have h [View Full Entry]

I have most of my hostels figured out but I am still worried about how much money to bring and what ways to travel. I believe all the places we are going....London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Venice, Rome, Athens, Morroco, Lisbon......If anyone reading this has any information on any of these places, please let me know. I have been researching but there is sooo much. Anyways, I thought I would start off my journal with a countdown till the trip. [View Full Entry]

Our first trip together ended up being Jeremy's first trip to Montana. We both had 2 weeks of leave planned to go to our respective hometowns. Jeremy decided to cut his visit home by a week and fly to Montana to spend a week with me. I took him to see everything that trip....and I mean EVERYTHING! We started off in Butte so he could meet my mom and sisters. Then we took the scenic route up to Kalispell to meet my dad. We drove up to Georgetown Lake, then took the Skalkaho Pass road to come out around Hamilton, then [View Full Entry]
