Day 5. Friday September 4, 2009
We have arrived at a KOA campground in Hardin. The trail boss called ahead a couple of days ago and made reservations for the holiday weekend. She didn’t want to get caught up short without a place to stay over the holiday weekend.
On the road this morning, we saw a terrible wreck of a truck and a tow trailer on the other side of the causeway. We passed by within minutes after it happened, and not much was recognizable, ‘cept the tow trailer was upside down, crumpled and gushing what looked like water from its tanks.
Folk were stopping on all sides of the roadway; some to help and others to take pictures with the cell phones and the like. We kept on trucking, thinking what a good idea it was for us to eschew a tow trailer when we were looking at RVs.
Did I tell you it was HOT in Hardin? Well, it is. Well over 90 degrees today. TB went down for a soak in the pool a while ago before Toddy Time. Shad and I stayed in Uncle Joe with the a/c on.
Today and tomorry, I’m changing the format of the way I’m posting to my travel blog. Instead of a running commentary in a single post, I’ll add a new post about every day if there is something worthwhile to report.
Also, I can’t control where photos appear in a posting. So by making a daily post, I can at least control a little better where the photos appear in the blog.
I received a message from my brother Jim that I am in prime fishing territory, and that he and a friend will be in this area about three weeks from now fly fishing. He is the outdoorsman of the family; fly fisher, hiker, climber, skier and more, in the rugged highlands of Utah.
