If you look for the Impenetrable Mountains on a map of Montana, you will not likely find them labelled. But we can assure you that they exist. We have been in them since we got here. The phrase comes from Peter Kingsley, a favorite author and guru, as he recounts an old Mongolian myth, about people being stuck in an impossible situation, with no hope of escape, no hope of moving forward, no hope of resolution, and how, at last, a magical wolf appears to bore a hole through the mountains and lead the people out of their stuck place, or a shaman appears and shoots a magical arrow that cuts a hole through the mountains and achieves the same end. Tim said it. We're in the impenetrable mountains. Again. I felt pressure to make an offer on the one place we saw yesterday. It was a deal if you looked and the price tag divided by the number of acres. And the house was very solid and even had a very high end kitchen. But it was dark and closed in and not well designed and, for the number of square feet, felt cramped when it shouldn't. Så kom dagen hvor vi skulle til at tage af sted på egen hånd for alvor, efter at have udvekslet forskellige ting som var endt i dn forkerte bil, tog vi afsked med Bob og Ann. De tager mod vest og vi kører i første omgang mod nordvest, dagens mål var at nå til Missula i Montana. De første 300 km foregår i skov langs med en eller flere floder, man kan gang på gang blive forundret over hvor store skov områder de råder over. Vejen vi kørte var den egentlige nordvest passage som Lewis og Clark i starten af 1800 tallet havde fundet som passage ud til Stillehavet. Hvem de to fyre er, er jeg endnu ikke helt klar over, men nogle hårde nysere har de nok været. Undervejs kører vi også igennem et indianer ... read more
