Hello All! This is entry numero uno (or один, по-русски)! The entire purpose of this blog is basically so I don't forget everything I do! I know people have gone overseas for long periods of time and at the end of it all they've seen so much that it seems like a blur. I hope to update this weekly, at least. Expect pictures and adventures (though I feel like I may not be able to get TOO detailed, as I imagine I'll have a fairly diverse audience here). To be t [View Full Entry]

All, Well, as I think most of you probably know, I am back in St. Louis, and starting to get back into the swing of things stateside. I spent my last night in Europe getting rained on in Dublin and sleeping with the window open in my Temple Bar hostel so I could hear the Irish music drifting through the air. It was actually a really cool deal, and in some weird way, was a really peaceful way to say goodbye to Europe. After another brief stop in NYC it was back to St. Louis where I celebrated my Dad's birthday [View Full Entry]

Its Go Time!!!

The Energizer Bunny balloon gets the Great Forest Park Balloon Race underway...
Sunday, September 16, 2007 Hello everyone! I am happy to report that I had a safe trip back to the US, and have been spending the past couple of days hanging out with friends and family, watching the Cardinals’ hope of an insane comeback in the NL Central collapse to the tune of a 9-game losing streak, and generally reacquainting myself with life here in St. Louis, all while nursing a minor case of jetlag… It has been a good few days, for sure. Now that I’m at home, I’m making it a top priority to get this blog all caught [View Full Entry]

So Many Balloons!
The Odds-On Favorite...

So far so good. I made it all the way from Boston and my car is still kicking. Not that it shouldn't work fine, I'm just waiting for something to go wrong! St. Louis is a pretty interesting city. The arch is quite amazing but I'm just not feeling it here. It's pretty dangerous. I was told by the girl at the front desk of the hostel that I shouldn't walk alone at night and if I do not to take my purse with me. Such a stark contrast to Cambridge! The architecture around this area, Soulard, reminds me of the [View Full Entry]

I'm starting the mad rush of preparation for our big 2007 trip to Europe. I had so much fun making Simpsons versions of me and Nicole that I decided to use them for our blog picture. Hopefully you enjoy as much I do! We leave in 6 days. I have my packing list complete and will begin the task of packing everything for 17 days into 1 bag tomorrow. Hopefully this blog works out on the road and I will be able to share the trip as it happens. [View Full Entry]

St. Louis-Home to the 2006 World Series Champion Cardinals. You can arrive in town at 4:30 call and get tickets for that night's game. $59.00 each gets you really good seats behind 3rd base. Too bad they lost to San Diego. We walked to the park from our hotel, the Drury Plaza. If you're ever in the area this is great value. Happy hour is 5:30 to 7:30, three free drinks each and munchies. Every morning they serve a full free breakfast and this is definitely one of their nicest hotels. Our room as requested had a view of the [View Full Entry]

I just got back from a fabulous mission trip to Costa Rica with the youth group. I was so amazed at the beauty of the country and both the people there and the people in our group. Our group was so receptive to Costa Rican culture. They were eager and ready to step outside their comfort zones. We saw God in so many places: each other, mountains, waterfalls, the rainforest, the conference center staff, the construction workers, children, pastors, etc. We all pulled our gifts and talents together to create an amazing team. I am going to miss all of the [View Full Entry]
