(This is actually from a while ago.) We stayed at the Adams Mark Hotel ($$) which was right by the arch. It was a pretty place. The people were pretty friendly. They were having a party by the Arch the first day we were there and we met some nice guys that got pretty excited when they found out we were Californians. We are now on our way to Jenks to see our friend Jan. New Year's Eve was pretty uneventful. We had dinner at the casino which was your usual casino buffet fare. We were tired from walking around downtown all afternoon. Had a few brews but went to bed just after midnight. It was pretty cold last night and this morning. BUT...... NO SNOW!!!! After thousands of miles by plane, bus, taxi, and tuck-tuck, I have finally returned home. I was in blisteringly hot Laos just one week ago and now I'm in freezing St. Louis. The lifestyle transition is obviously very drastic. I'm eating more, wearing clean clothes on a regular basis, have my cell phone in my pocket(although nobody really calls me, ha), and snacking on Hot Tamales and Milk Duds. OK, so in case you don't know or haven't heard yet... The Cardinals won the world series in game 5. It was actually the fourth game, but it got delayed due to the rain and ended up being played on Friday. Either way we got to be there and had a phenomenal time. I'm still in St. Louis. My momma just drove out here a few days ago to help my sister with the workshop she's been working on presenting for about year now. Last night, my mom, sister, bro-in -law and I collated 150, 28-page programs after chinese food. My bro-in-law and I put together 400 CDs from scratch assembly line style and I did 50 DVDs (putting the case together and the covers, back covers and contents. I'm now in St. Louis with my sister, Ingrid, Peter, Pierce, Sarah and Grethen and HUMPHREY! who has been acting like a puppy ever since the temperature went down a tad. Tuesday September 19 According to the original schedule that I planned, I should be leaving St Louis today. I can’t let its nighttime reputation decide what I want to do during the day, though. I only came here because the Bud Brewery was literally down the street from where I was staying, however I wanted to visit a friend in Indianapolis.
