(This is actually from a while ago.) We stayed at the Adams Mark Hotel ($$) which was right by the arch. It was a pretty place. The people were pretty friendly. They were having a party by the Arch the first day we were there and we met some nice guys that got pretty excited when they found out we were Californians. So us Stocktonians did our "play" for the audience on Saturday night and got 2nd place. Not too bad. Don't have many pictures at the moment, but as soon as I find them I'll post them.... lol. Until next [View Full Entry]

We are now on our way to Jenks to see our friend Jan. New Year's Eve was pretty uneventful. We had dinner at the casino which was your usual casino buffet fare. We were tired from walking around downtown all afternoon. Had a few brews but went to bed just after midnight. It was pretty cold last night and this morning. BUT...... NO SNOW!!!! It is sunny today and not a cloud in the sky. Meghan and Matt got us a GPS system and it is fantastic! We just program it, it tells us where to turn, when to do it [View Full Entry]

After thousands of miles by plane, bus, taxi, and tuck-tuck, I have finally returned home. I was in blisteringly hot Laos just one week ago and now I'm in freezing St. Louis. The lifestyle transition is obviously very drastic. I'm eating more, wearing clean clothes on a regular basis, have my cell phone in my pocket(although nobody really calls me, ha), and snacking on Hot Tamales and Milk Duds. You may wonder how I'm handling this transition from unpredicatable Laos to the comfy home-life. So far so good. It's been great catching up with the family and spending time in my [View Full Entry]

It had been two and a half years since the three of us had been together, and after spending the 4 most formative years of our lives with each other that is entirely too long. Following out college years in Milwaukee I had returned to Minneapolis, Josh had returned to St. Louis, and Novot stayed and began a career. Fast forward a year and a half, one "real job," one bittersweer homecoming, one "real resignation," and one return to Milwaukee and I decided it was time to stop talking about getting together again and actually do it. So, on the leading [View Full Entry]

OK, so in case you don't know or haven't heard yet... The Cardinals won the world series in game 5. It was actually the fourth game, but it got delayed due to the rain and ended up being played on Friday. Either way we got to be there and had a phenomenal time. I know I mentioned that the Red Bull Soap Box Races were in town. Well people from all over the US packed up their home built contraptions and drove to St Louis to compete. Didn't get to see the race but we were in the parking structure that [View Full Entry]

We all saw this one coming.
I know its been a while. Sorry about that. But I have been home tending to things and trying to be normal for a while. Unsuccessfully though. So Im off. A buddy of mine is playing for the Cardinals so we just had to come and lend our support. For those of you who are not in the 'know', Im talking about baseball. Its a game that we have here in America that is a take on cricket. Better though. Just because Im home doesnt mean that my feet are nailed to the ground. There are plenty of things that [View Full Entry]

I'm still in St. Louis. My momma just drove out here a few days ago to help my sister with the workshop she's been working on presenting for about year now. Last night, my mom, sister, bro-in -law and I collated 150, 28-page programs after chinese food. My bro-in-law and I put together 400 CDs from scratch assembly line style and I did 50 DVDs (putting the case together and the covers, back covers and contents. What I did was only about 5% of all the work she's been doing for this workshop about technology for special needs children all over [View Full Entry]

Here's my sister's fam with the scarecrow we just made.
I'm now in St. Louis with my sister, Ingrid, Peter, Pierce, Sarah and Grethen and HUMPHREY! who has been acting like a puppy ever since the temperature went down a tad. Pierce is one of those 8 year olds you look at and say "you're gonna be gorgeous when you grow up." Yeah, I know he's my nephew, but it's true. He's in third grade now and I got to see his classroom when I went to his open house. When I went in everyone I met said "Oh, yes, he told us in class today that his aunt was coming!" Inside the Bud Brewery
Tuesday September 19 According to the original schedule that I planned, I should be leaving St Louis today. I can’t let its nighttime reputation decide what I want to do during the day, though. I only came here because the Bud Brewery was literally down the street from where I was staying, however I wanted to visit a friend in Indianapolis. Cath was really busy moving houses so I don’t think it was a great time. I suppose there’s always next time. I packed Baz into my bag and off we hopped to the brewery. There were no bookings required, [View Full Entry]
