The hospital changed our time so we didn't have to be there until 7.15. Lewis was fine the night before but in the morning he was nervous. The nurses were very good and let him sniff all the flavours that he could choose to go in his face mask for putting him to sleep. He went for water melon this time - it makes such a difference to the kids who are frightened of putting the mask on, you wonder why we dont do it in UK. He went down about 9.15am and was back in recovery by 11am. He was very shakey an upset but perked up after a while and had a bit to eat and drink. After a while though he started getting leg spasms and needed the valium IV to help with the pain. He started to feel better about tea time. In the end, we didn't get out till after 9pm. They wanted to keep in in over night but Tracey wanted to get him back to the apartment so he could get more comfortable rather than be woken up every hour or so. He ended up sleeping till 4.30, then having some medicine and sleeping till 7am.
He still can't straighten his legs or stand up himself so we are having to lift him but he went down to breakfast, so he's feeling much better already. By the end of the day he should be moving around a little bit. We are becoming experts at waffle making.
It's raining again, as it did most of yesterday but we aren't going out today so it wont matter. We have some stuff for lunch and will probably get a takeaway pizza for tea.
