Catching a train to the east coast tomorrow.
Train Facts via the Association of American Railroads:
-Each freight train can move one ton of freight 453 miles on one single gallon of diesel fuel.
-If 10% of long haul freight now moving buy truck moved by rail, annual greenhouse gas emissions would fall by more than 12 million tons.
-American railroads move 40% of our nations freight but account for just 2.2% of all transportation related greenhouse gas emissions and just .6% of total U.S. greenhouse gas emissions.
